Wireless Streaming Video
Remote video camera monitoring over wireless Ethernet is now
possible with the Model 9131 from
Encom Wireless Data Solutions.
The Model 9131 is a plug and play package providing a complete
wireless video monitoring solution for remote camera sites.
Connect any standard analogue (NTSC/PAL) camera to the 9131 and
instantly access full frame rate video over a wireless Ethernet link
up to 60 miles away. An associated Model 8130 Wireless Ethernet
transceiver is connected to the WAN/LAN and the video is available
on the TCP/IP network.
The
Model 9131 located at the camera site utilizes an onboard MPEG-4
video server to compress the video signal. An integrated Encom 900
MHz FHSS wireless Ethernet transceiver provides a long range and
reliable wireless link with the flexibility necessary to communicate
with remote camera installations. A serial port (RS-232/RS-485) is
built-in for complete control of PTZ (pan, tilt, zoom) functions.
The high quality video stream can be viewed via a number of
interface options. City Eyes software from Encom can be run as a
stand alone program allowing control and monitoring of multiple
Ethernet video streams. The high quality images can also be
viewed using a standard internet browser.

Wireless Ethernet
Encom Wireless Data Solutions
recently introduced Model 8030 Wireless Ethernet Transceiver, a 900
MHz license-free high-speed wireless solution for integrating remote
Ethernet and serial devices into IP/Ethernet networks.
The
Model 8130 gives traffic-control and maintenance personnel an easy,
affordable wireless system to extend IP based and serial networks beyond
existing infrastructure. Acting as a wireless bridge, the Model 8130
provides Ethernet connectivity for multiple IP based traffic management
devices. This is the perfect solution for extending an Ethernet system
to additional intersections, bringing back multiple data streams from
traffic controllers, video cameras, and traffic detectors over a long
range and reliable wireless data link.
Using 900 MHz FHSS (Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum) technology with a
constant wireless link rate of 345 Kbps, the Model 8130 provides
long-range communications with data rates that do not degrade over
distances up to 60 miles.
